Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective Aug 14, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026
Photography is booked by the date. When the Studio accepts your booking it stops offering that date to anyone else, which is why cancelling close to the event costs more than cancelling early.
This policy sets out what is payable and when, what happens if a booking is cancelled or moved, and how refunds reach you. It applies to every engagement unless your signed agreement says otherwise, in which case the agreement governs.
In short: cancel more than 5 days before your event and half of everything you have paid is refunded. Inside 5 days, no refund is due.
1. Booking payment
A booking payment of 30% of the package value is payable on signing the agreement. The date is reserved when it is received.
The booking payment is not a forfeit. It counts towards the total price of your engagement, and it is refundable on the terms in clause 3 like everything else you pay.
2. Balance and how you pay
The remaining 70% is due no later than 7 days before the first day of the event.
Where a booking is made fewer than 7 days before the event, the full amount is payable on signing.
Every invoice the Studio issues carries a secure payment link, and the same invoices are available in your client portal. You can pay by UPI, card, netbanking or wallet. Payment is processed by the Studio's payment gateway and is treated as received when the gateway confirms it.
Add-ons and extras agreed after signing are invoiced separately and are payable on the terms stated on that invoice.
3. Cancellation by you
Notice runs from the date the Studio receives your cancellation in writing to the first day of the event.
More than 5 days before the event — 50% of everything you have paid is refunded, the booking payment included.
5 days or fewer before the event — no refund is due. At that point the date cannot be rebooked, the crew is committed and the preparation is done.
Please cancel by email so that the date of notice is not in dispute. A cancellation is effective when the Studio receives it, not when it was sent.
4. Rescheduling
A booking may be moved once free of charge if the Studio is told more than 5 days before the event and is available on the new date. Everything you have paid carries over in full.
If the Studio is not available on the new date, the booking is treated as cancelled by you and clause 3 applies.
A request to move a booking 5 days or fewer before the event is treated as a cancellation, and clause 3 applies — which at that point means no refund.
Where the new date falls in a later season and prices have changed, the difference is payable.
5. Cancellation by the Studio
If the Studio cancels for any reason within its control, everything you have paid is refunded in full.
If illness, accident or another event beyond the Studio's control prevents attendance, the Studio will first try to arrange a replacement photographer of comparable experience, at no additional cost to you. If no acceptable replacement can be arranged, everything paid is refunded in full.
In either case the Studio's liability is limited to that refund, as set out in the Terms of Service.
6. Incomplete or undelivered work
If the Studio covers part of an event but cannot complete it, or cannot deliver part of what was contracted, a fair proportion of the fee for the undelivered portion is refunded.
Where files are lost through equipment failure despite the Studio's backup practice, the refund is of the amount paid for the affected coverage. The Studio's total liability remains limited to the amount paid for the engagement.
7. After delivery
No refund is due once the final gallery has been delivered. The work is a commissioned digital service, made specifically for you and not resaleable, and it is complete at the point of delivery.
If you believe the delivered work falls short of what was contracted, tell the Studio within 14 days of delivery. The Studio will look at it and, where the complaint is justified, will re-edit or reshoot the affected work at its own cost. Dissatisfaction with the Studio's established editing style, which you can see throughout this portfolio, is not a ground for a refund.
8. How refunds are made
Approved refunds are issued against a credit note and returned through the payment gateway to the same card, account or UPI handle the payment came from. A refund is never paid to a different account from the one that paid, and the Studio cannot redirect it — that is a limit of the gateway, not a policy choice.
The Studio initiates an approved refund within 3 business days of approving it. How long the money then takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer and is typically a further 5 to 7 business days.
Where a payment was made outside the gateway — by bank transfer or in cash — the refund is made by bank transfer to the account you nominate, on the same timetable.
Refunds are made in Indian Rupees (INR) only. Payment gateway fees charged on the original payment are not recoverable and are not refunded.
Tax already remitted on a cancelled booking is adjusted through the credit note in the ordinary way.
9. How to request a refund or cancel
Email the Studio at the address at the foot of this page, quoting your booking or invoice number and the event date, and say what you are asking for.
The Studio will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and tell you what is refundable under this policy before anything is processed.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, raise it with the Studio directly first. Disputes are handled as set out in the Terms of Service.
